I'm the youngest child from a large North Welsh family. Born in Leicester, 1971. London and Brighton have also previously been my home.
I've built over 25 years experience working within the public sector mostly with communities distanced from mainstream society.
I've travelled extensively by myself for work and pleasure and this remains my genuine true joy. Applied alongside some of my own challenging life experiences, my capacity to relate and empathise with the diverse needs of others is rich and developed. I believe in the restorative factors of big city living as much as the need for the healing calm of space and silence.
For a long time I've had interest in discovering more about how I and others function as individuals and within our societies. How we respond to adversity. How do we cope? This interest drove me to qualify as a counsellor in 2015. My work now is motivated by goals of reducing stigma to talking about mental health and consequently, making talking therapies more accessible to more people. I know from my own personal experiences of counselling that even simply having a safe space to open up about difficult thoughts and feelings can create significant differences to people's lives. My aim is to work alongside you. We'll build strong and supportive personal foundations that'll enable you to move forward with increased personal insight, awareness and with skills built from your own unique resources and experiences. This organic personal growth will be healing and can provide the motivation to drive ahead in life with stronger resiliance to today's constantly changing landscapes.
